The Umbrella Canopy is made from a stunning 100% Acrylic solution dyed canvas with a vented roof canopy. The canopy is also air-permeable, water, oil and dirt repellent, mould and mildew resistant as well as being scotch guarded for added protection.

The Eclipse umbrella also boasts propriety oval-shaped arms, exclusively designed connectors and central hubs as well as an innovative external winder mechanism with internal treated galvanized cables. The handle is removable.

Our Zinc Coated, Galvanised Steel Giant Umbrellas can be mounted to any suitable reinforced and strong concrete slab, providing the depth of the slab is at least 100mm (4″), but preferably 125 mm for the 130kg  five metre ‘Shademaster’

For installation in lawn, pavers, or general soil we provide a pre fabricated reo steel and stainless ‘cage’ which is specially designed to be concreted in, with four stainless steel 16mm threaded rods exposed for base plate mounting. All concrete should be at 20 – 30MPa.

For established concrete slab/tiles, our installers will use a specialised Ramset chem-setting procedure to install your umbrella base plate. This installation can be easily achieved D.I.Y. Ultra Violet Sun Protection

While humans can choose various courses of protection, for instance-avoiding noon-time sun; plants and animals are not so fortunate.

Solar UV radiation levels are highest during the middle of the day. In total, almost half the daytime total UV radiation is received during the few hours around midday (noon).

Clouds as well as ozone, have a tremendous effect on UV radiation levels. However cloudy skies generally do not offer significant protection from harmful UV rays.

Dangerous UV rays are invisible, and can attack the skin of young children and pets (including fish) in just 10 minutes in high exposure times. UV rays can easily create a deadly sun cancer spot.

Experts agree that the most common cause of skin cancer is Ultraviolet Radiation. Although the Australian sun burns with intense heat, it is the invisible Ultraviolet Radiation rays that can burn a person and cause damage to unprotected fair skin within a short time of 15 minutes.

UPF is the term for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and it represents a specific scale or rating that the UV protection provides by various materials.

Sunscreens have always carried the SPF identification code and the term UPF was selected to distinguish it from the SPF screening code.

The higher the UPF rating, the more effective and longer the protection against UVR will be.

The higher the UPF rating of any quality umbrella shade cloth will result in longer protection against dangerous Ultraviolet Radiation.

Any quality shade cloth with a UPF rating of 15 will allow just one fifteenth of the Ultraviolet Radiation to penetrate through it; as a UPF rating of 20 for example will only allow just one twentieth of the Ultraviolet Radiation to penetrate through the cloth weave.
